Briefly about the process of restoration of a cast-iron bath

Restoration of a cast-iron bath in Cherkasy, as well as repair of an acrylic or iron bath, takes place at home. All work is done carefully, the tile or something else is not damaged and takes about 3-4 hours. The new coating dries in a day, provided that the temperature in the bathroom is not lower than 24 degrees (if it is lower, it is better to wait 2 days).

First, I prepare the surface of the bath: I clean the bath with a diamond disc (cleans off any dirt, rust, plaque, and most importantly makes the surface rough and matte) + special treatment. chem. composition, everything is washed off with a large stream of water, degreasing, drying and heating the bath with an industrial hair dryer, which as a result will ensure reliable adhesion of the new enamel to the bath – the new coating does not peel off at all! Then, if possible, I remove the siphon and fill it with liquid acrylic – the bath will be snow-white, smooth and shiny!

The bath is cleaned “wet” – there will be no dust fog. The new enamel does not have a toxic smell – you can stay in the apartment. If you are worried about the safety of the tile – do not worry, the tile is pasted over with masking tape.

Answers to questions about the restoration of bath enamel

Question: How to prepare a bathtub for restoration?

Answer: During the reconstruction of the bath, the bathroom must be warm. The best temperature is 22 – 24 degrees. It is also important that water does not leak from the faucet located above the bathtub. Make sure you have access to the siphon (drain / overflow), after cleaning the bath, I remove it if possible. You can order the restoration of bath enamel with us 1-2 days before the order is completed. Before arrival, remove personal hygiene products from the bathroom, if possible, prepare clean rags (rags).

Question: When is the best time to refurbish a bath, before the bathroom is refurbished, or after?

Answer: Only after the renovation of the bathroom! It is right to paint the walls at the end of the repair, and not at the beginning – so it is here. In order to clean the bath according to the technology, it is necessary to have water from the tap and drain the water from the bath, an installed siphon. After applying the new enamel, the bath should dry in a warm, clean and dry area. It is important not to stick plastic plinth on the sides of the bathroom, silicone, grout – it is better to connect the bathtub and tiles after restoration!

Question: What liquid acrylic enamel do you use in your work: premium, vip or regular?

Answer: Only high-quality time-tested liquid acrylic enamel! To date, enamel for the restoration of bathtubs liquid acrylic is supplied only by European manufacturers – all of them are vip-premium quality! Only ordinary bath paint can be ordinary and it is easy to distinguish: the volume of such paint is up to 1 kg. (liquid acrylic 2.5 kg.), has a characteristic smell, does not lay down evenly. Please note, if you are offered to restore a bathtub with liquid acrylic, but at a higher price supposedly premium, impact-resistant material with the addition of gold nano particles, this marketing ploy is only aimed at increasing earnings!

Question: How long will a new “spill bath” coating last?

Answer: Even the highest quality liquid acrylic enamel will not last you even a year if applied to a poorly prepared surface. We pay special attention to this – the new coating does not peel off at all! As for the appearance, nothing lasts forever, like any thing, including a new bath from water, detergents and operation, it loses its original appearance over time, for someone faster for someone longer, on average it is 7-10 years.

Question: How to wash the bath after the restoration of “bath care”?

Answer: Caring for a renovated bathroom is no different than caring for a new bathroom. You can use any bath detergent, as long as you read the recommendations and follow them. I recommend using a detergent for acrylic bathtubs – it does not contain aggressive acids that corrode the enamel over time.
